My four year old loves dinosaurs. She has dinosaur toys, dinosaur puzzles, dinosaur car tracks, had a dinosaur birthday party, watches dinosaur cartoons and movies, both animated and live action. She knows that dinosaurs are no more. They lived many years ago, yet they've captured the attention of a preschooler who wants to know what they ate, how they lived, what were they scared of, could they swim, how big were they, and how to pronounce their names.
I'm reminded of those who have gone before us and fought the good fight of faith - the 'dinosaurs' of past generations whose prayers and obedience have left an indelible mark. It is their warrior faith, study of prophecy, and discernment concerning current events that I hope will also pique the interest of my daughter and the younger generations.
I pray all of us seek to grow in biblical literacy and spiritual development. Many are at risk of falling prey and lulled to sleep with ever increasing comforts presented by AI technology, cashless payments, and not wanting to stand alone even if it means they are on the wrong side of righteousness.
Don't ignore the spiritual fossils left behind. Do some digging, excavate and investigate. Remember, with God even dry bones can live. It's time to study while we can and teach those who are coming behind us.
