Train Up a Child

We've all heard flight attendants instruct parents to put their mask on first before assisting their child. But how long are you supposed to wait after your mask is secure to put on your child's mask? It's a silly question. You put your child's mask on immediately after your own. I have two questions: 1) Is our own oxygen supply (relationship with God) secure first? We must have our own prayer life and continue to develop biblical literacy if we want to help our children do the same. 2) Why do we wait so long to teach our children about God? By the time they are school aged, they have been bombarded with the world's agenda through television, teachers, and peers. We can't expect an hour of Sunday School to make up for years under our roof without Bible Study, family prayer, and daily application of God's Word. Let me encourage you. All is not lost. Each day is another opportunity to introduce our children to the Lord of lords and King of kings.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it." ~ Proverbs 22:6
