I asked my 4 year old to do something. She replied, "I can't..." and preceded to get upset. I paused at hearing how quickly she used the word "can't". I stopped her and corrected her, giving her alternative responses, and reminded her of Philippians 4:13.
I know her limitations and what I asked she could have done if she had tried or she could have asked for my help.
We love to rattle off Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue," but do we live like it's true? Does our speech reflect the gravity of our words?
When God asks us to do something He knows our limitations. He would never ask us to do something that was impossible because nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).
Don't let your own words defeat you. Instead of telling God, "I can't," tell Him, "With You I can."
